Behind the Camera

Christopher Ludgate's work in film finds him front & center on screen plus in voiceover work for commercial and film. But Ludgate can also be found as the man behind the movie camera as well as obsessing through the night in the editing room. Not least of all, his passion for film finds him crafting the ever-important, magic of words in screenplay writing. Currently he is adapting an award-winning short fiction piece of his for the big screen as well as stories inspired by his extensive travels.

His directorial debut film, The Love Permit, was adapted from his acclaimed original one-act play of the same name. It was filmed on location in association with the City of New York. The film played the global festival circuit for a remarkable seven years, winning awards and nominations for Outstanding Writing and Outstanding Short Film among other accolades. It was also used in a class teaching the anatomy of a short screenplay. The Love Permit was honored to be curated by New York's Queens Museum Ministry of Culture.

Ludgate's award-winning documentary, With Love, screened at festivals worldwide as an inspiring reveal and intimate glimpse into the famous New York City outreach organization, God's Love We Deliver. Ludgate won Best Director Short Form Doc at the U.S. Premier with QWFF in NYC. The film is in distribution with Alexander Street Press in its Social Sciences Collection.

Ludgate is Associate Producer on the film, Io non Devo, an Italian short subject by Andrea C. Vannucci. The gorgeous film won an award for Cinematography along with other noms at its premier at New York's Museum of the Moving Image with QWFF.

Door of the Law

Based on Franz Kafka's The Trial, Chris portrays an earnest student yogi who learns valuable lessons in this stylish film that was shot entirely on location in NYC's 5 boroughs by filmmaker Jeff Martell.

Innoscent

Doing the steamy voiceover for an Innoscent fragrance ad, Chris reunites with award winning Italian filmmaker, Andrea Vanucci.

Ludmilla

In a juicy supporting role, Chris plays a New York City hustler with skills in the Amos Kollek film, Ludmilla (from rough cut).
